About

The Offset Network was developed as a web-resource, sharing platform, and educational tool for all Institutions of Higher Education.  Recognizing the need to share best practices, Duke University, Oberlin College, and the University of Florida partnered to create this resource to help expand the options for developing offset projects to better integrate curriculum development, academic research, student involvement, and community engagement.  In addition, we work closely with Second Nature to ensure these resources align with Second Nature's carbon offsets guidance.

Initially developed within the sphere of Higher Education, the Offset Network, seeks to disseminate knowledge and act as a tool and a model for companies, non-profits, city governments and others. As the Peer Review process evolves, and as novel offset projects and protocols are developed, the Offset Network will be able to function throughout varying sectors, providing greater flexibility to achieve sustainability goals.
